DepARTure exists to raise the profile of arts in education by developing links between schools, artists and arts organisations in order to encourage high quality arts experiences for pupils, teachers, governors and parents both within and beyond the curriculum. DepARTure is housed within Children’s Services at Dorset County Council and is a Regularly Funded Organisation of Arts Council England South West.
The core areas of work include:
- Advice and information
- Support and training for Artsmark and Arts Award
- Specialist project management
- Training for teachers and artists
- Brokerage between schools, artists and arts organisations
DepARTure is funded by Dorset County Council and Arts Council England South West.
