What's Important to Us
As a network of ten arts education partnerships across the south west we believe that all young people and their communities are entitled to a rich cultural life.
At the heart of our programmes is the will to inspire creative, artistic and cultural experiences for children and young people; we make school more interesting and help children find their creative voice.
Local knowledge makes national arts development programmes much more effective. We know the really high quality artists, we work in all the schools as well as out of school venues, and we’ve got good relationships with the right people in our local authorities.
Our collective expertise, experience, knowledge and sheer enthusiasm for making a difference in young people’s lives through the arts is second to none.
What we plan to do in 2011 is:
To create an exciting and sustainable Cultural Offer across the region for all children and young people
Share our knowledge and expertise with others to provide inspirational arts education leadership for:
- Creative & Media 14-19 vocational education
- Cultural Olympiad projects
- School build projects
- Visual and Digital Arts project
- The Youth Offer
- Extended Services
- Be the south west hub for Action for Children's Arts
Offer a regional resource of artists, arts organisations and venues
Encourage more schools to celebrate their arts provision through Artsmark status and more young people to attain Arts Award qualifications
Wave the flag to celebrate and showcase achievements by children and young people
Demonstrate to policy and decision makers how crucially important the arts and culture are to children and young people - and the future of our society – physically, emotionally, spiritually and economically
Respond to new initiatives, working together to deliver dynamic and innovative commissioned projects across the region
